the Light as it spreads in my paintings,
reflecting itself in the faces of my characters.
It gives them an inner life and spirit and
brings out their true stories of the heart.
I can
spend hours just studying the light as
it falls down and disseminates into thousands
of nuances on their skin and in their hair.
It creates a secret inner glow that seems
to stream from within the bodies. I love that
Light, challenging The Darkness around it.
I love how
it takes on The Dark with its
undeniable persistence, the
smallest
source can brighten up everything
around it, it is almost magical."
